What is a calico cat? Is it a mix?

A Calico is just the name of the colour of the cat. It is not a breed at all. Any orange, black and white cat is a Calico. All of them are females, also. You won't find a male Calico. The same as you won't find a male Tortoise Shell cat, either. Notre Dame = a Calico is not a breed. If it was you would have to have male ones,also, and there aren't any. It is also not called a Domestic short-haired cat. They come in long hair, also. It is only the name for the colour, and not rare, at all. The same as a Tabby cat is stripped, and can be any colour.
