Mystery snail questions?

I'm getting a mystery snail for my large aquarium. It has one calico fantail and one black moor. Neither is aggresive. Will they get along with he snail? Also I read that sometimes they can escape if there's an opening in th tank, and on the lid of my tank the is a rectangle opening that let's the filter in. Man, a million's not that much. You'd need to invest the whole mil just to earn enough interest to live. (60 - 80k per year) If you built two decent houses, that's 600K gone right there. Here's the tip I found has actually improved my writing the most: hide it. Hide it somewhere you'll find it in six months or a year. Don't search it out. Don't think about where you might have put it. After all that time has passed, after having read another author, after having written other things, then you can read it as if it weren't your own, and hopefully you'll have a better understanding of what is wrong with that. (BTW a single kit in a litter isn't something to be proud of for a cat)

My dog was abused plz help me!?

Ok it all began with my 17 year old Husky mix becoming more and more weary of strangers, she would become anxiety provoked whenever strangers would approach her so I brought her to a trainer who was supposed to help intoduce her to new people and help her overcome her increasing fear of people. I want her to live her last years in peace. She is an old Katrina rescue; she's had nothing but a hard life and before Katrina was used sadly as a bait dog for fighting rings. She has lost one eye hence her name Popeye. She is extremely kind and loving despite the horrors of her past, i love her to death and i think she's the perfect dog on earth, she NEVER bit, snarled, bit or growled, NEVER, even when my nephew came over and accidently stepped on her tail, she whined and shyed away, i've never seen such tolerance from a pet, shes perfect in every way and i just wanted her to not have any more stresses or fears in her life, which is almost done sadly. I got her 4 years ago... Anyway i'll get to my point, i brought her to a trainer for 3 weeks along with my puppy brown lab for 3 weeks to help introduce her to strangers and train the lab named Farro. When i got back to pick them up my worst fears came true, i saw the trainer through the window kick, yank their collars very forcefully she even said in her defense if the dog doesn't sit when u yank it then u didn't do it hard enough. I was stunned, mortified and in utter horror and shock, i called the police and now have a pending lawsuit against this "trainer", my question is even though the dogs seem suprsigly ok right now, they seem fine but i'm scared to death that this will change their loving attitude toward strangers and new people or myself. I really love their frinedly dispositions and would love for them to remain friendly and happy, to stay who they are and not become fearful, shy, agressive or anxious. Do you think that dogs live in the moment and will forget this experince? I hope and pray to god every day now that they will and now a week after the thing happened they are just as loving and friendly as they were before this. This scares me a little as they seem unphased by this treatment and altough i'm grateful what can i do? I may lose my job because of the lawsuit and if i lose the sueing could come my way and i could run out of money because i'm on a tight budget but my morals on the treatment of animals are above my own job in my eyes... Anyway plz give me ur insight on whether u think they are fine since they behave just as loving and friendly or whether this has affected them? It just breaks my heart because both dogs don't need this at all, no dog (animal) does... Especially a dog that has been though hell and back, Katrina, and a fighting ring for 10 years, a dog like that deserves nothing in its life but peace, love and compassion, and the puppy Farro makes me mad that he was treated like that, a puppy deserves nothing but love and gentle giudence, i hope this doesn't affect him at all. Need help with a new kitten!?

My girlfriend, whom I live with, has just recently adopted a new calico kitten; 5 months old. She's a great kitten, but her nighttime escapades drive me up a wall. All the experts say you have to ignore her cries or you'll teach her that meowing loudly in the middle of the night gets her food, attention, etc. They say allow her to roam the house to keep herself occupied. The problem is, we have roommates. The kitten stays in the same room as us, but we can't just ignore her cries that can be heard throughout the house! In order to be courteous roommates, we have to find a way to keep her quiet, and that way is often sitting miserably and playing with her at 3 AM. The lack of sleep is killing me, but there are no empty rooms to keep her in throughout the night where she won't wake somebody. These things occur despite the two hours we've been setting aside before bed each night just to play with her in the hopes she'll sleep though the night. I know she's a kitten and will quiet down as she grows up and matures, but please, anyone who has owned a kitten knows the boiling fury that builds in your stomach when she pounces on your toes in the middle of the night and you have work in the morning. Does anyone have any advice or solutions they could offer? My girlfriend loves this thing and it makes her very happy. I want to love it too, but changing its sleep schedule is very hard when keeping it quiet takes priority over training it. Please help.

Cute name for a female calico kitten?

I had two beautiful calico female kittens before. Sadly, the both were murdered by a boxer before reaching 6 months old. The first we named Cali "I know, so original right. :P" and the second I named Kali, (in honor of the first kitten murdered). That's just what comes to mind whenever I see a calico. Continued swelling and minor pain 4 weeks after circumcision?

Hi all, I'm 18 and I got circumcised June 3 due to phimosis. Now all of the stitches have fallen out except one, and the incision area is beginning to look more normal, though it's still all reddish. Anyway, I'm a little concerned about my glans and the bottom right-side of the incision below my glans. Those two parts are still swollen. I have not noticed any reduction of swelling of my glans since I removed the dressing applied after the op. The mouth of the glans has also remained swollen (it's widened) and has not changed at all, there is also additional minor stinging during and for a short period after urination in the mouth, but that pain has been there for 2 weeks and has not gotten worse. The bottom part that I mentioned above is swollen whenever I wake up in the morning and then goes down during the day. I put a light layer of gauze over my penis at night to make sleeping more comfortable and every morning there are a few little yellow, hardened, and sort of mucus-looking, stains on it. The head will very occasionally ache a little, and it sort of hurts for a second around the incision area on the top, when it swings around like when I'm walking. I have seen 4 different doctors since the op, the last one I saw about a 1 week and a half ago. They pretty much all said I was fine, two subscribed me addition antibiotics. I have finished a total of 4 different antibiotics. Am I okay?

They are always round, not just when he's scared. He is also very scrawny and has black and white hair (but the hair on his body is more auburn). Bowel obstruction or just trapped wind?

So yesterday i woke up around 3 am with a pressure like feel in my abdomen right around the belly button.Lasted all day, went to bed early and today when i got up, the pressure was about 90 % gone.So it felt really good.However today, i still feel a pressure like area on my right side between my belly button and my hip bone, but its directly across from the belly button not going down towards my hip bone.I have passed lots of gas, and burped a few times, but the pain remains.The pain yesterday wasn't really severe, it was just like a cramp like feel as if you jogged and then got a cramp in your side.As stated before, yesterdays abdominal pain is gone, just mild cramp like pain in my right side.The pain meets where the crease of your leg and your belly button would meat up, a little higher than your hip bone and directly across from the belly button.It's only causing a little discomfort, but its not sever like I'm dieing to go to the doctor or severe enough to cause me to want to go to the ER.I don't feel nauseated and i have vomited at all.And i dont feel sharp or stabbing like pains.So with my breif description i have provided, does it sound like trapped gas or a sort of bowel obstruction. ?

It depends on what look you want. If you want them dressy you could go with a velvet. You could use denim, chenille, chintz, or canvas. Use something with a little thickness to it because if you use batik or batiste it will not work so well. I will use most anything if I like the patterns but I just want it to be a little thicker than most clothing fabrics. When you staple the fabric to the bottom of the chair just make sure the fabric on the corners is evenly distributed. I staple the sides first and do the corners last. Good luck with your project. BTW if you are using the chairs in a kitchen setting oil cloth is a great choice. The fabric usually has a modern look to it and it has a plastic coating so all you have to do is wipe it off. Why does my male kitten keep bothering my adult female cat?

I think the first thing you should work on is probably getting a good Job that you enjoy. Then you should try to get to a point where your happy in all parts of your life. I recently gave birth to my lil girl, her father was there through out my pregnancy even though we've never been in a relationship. He tried to get me to have an abortion for the first five months. Okay basically, I'm freaking out. Me and my boyfriend were fooling around one day. I was already late on my period when we did, but after, I still haven't gotten my period. Like I completely skipped it. So my first question is, what are other possibilities that could be the reason for me to skip a period? (because honestly, it would have to be very rare for me to actually have gotten pregnant because I have actually never had sex, and even though we were just fooling around, I know how easy it is at the same time Nd there's always that chance even though we are always very careful. okay, also, I did try a pregnancy test (clear blue) and I tried it shortly after the week I should have been on my period, yet the test said I had to try it within 4 days of my period or when I should be on it. The test said negative. So my other question is, could the test have been wrong because I used it too late? Or should I try again when I should be on next month? Also, one last question, if I am pregnant, will I skip next month and the remaining 7? Or would it just be the first month? She's a Calico, her name is Indy and I've been giving her dry food since I got her at 11 weeks. She is now 1 and weighs 7lbs. She is soo tiny and it worries me. They would come out in all different varieties of colours and patterns. You might get some grey tabbies and some orange torties... Another calico in the litter isnt likely due to the fact that the father would have to have a recessive calico gene. Which most cats don't have. Its also unlikely that they would have another black cat. Their fur would also likely come as different lengths. The mother of my kittens was a grey tortie. She had a grey tabby, a black one, a black and cream whorled one, an orange tabby, and an all white one.. The orange and grey ones were short haired, the black one and white one ended up medium haired, and the whorled one ended up long haired. I own the whorled one and black one. Calicos are almost always girls, males, if they appear, are normally sterile and cant produce offspring. However I have owned 4 calico males in my life, and one of them, magically impregnated one of our females. We didn't get him fixed because we assumed he was sterile.

Why is my kitten attacking my legs and biting my calves?

I have a 10 month old female calico kitten, long haired. I got her from a rescue shelter when she about 3 months old. She is an indoor kitty, and has been the sweetest cat, but randomly has started with a new behavior. She will be in her normal (nice) mood hanging out, and then out of the blue will put her ears back, have a low deep meow, and attack/bite my calves. Then she will back away and hunch her back and attack again (leading to several attempts at biting and clawing my legs). This will last about 10 minutes or so and she goes back to her normal sweet self. Also if she gets in this mood and I happen to be sitting on the ground near her she attacks my arms or my head instead. She has had all of her shots and is perfectly healthy. Why is she doing this- can this problem be reversed? help!!!!

I'm eighteen years young, falling hard for this amazingly sweet guy whom I work with. He's nineteen, shy, sweet and so romantic. I really care about him, and we are both very close friends. Why does my cat hate me all of a sudden?

I got this cat (calico) almost a year ago and we have had another cat (Maine Coon) for a couple of years. So when I got this cat she was in quarantine in my room and we got her declawed so she was recuperating in my room so she was in there for about a month before we let her out.. Then we let her out and the bullies the other cat a lot. She would come up to my family and we would give her attention and the would like it and purr. She will go in my sisters room and she will run out of my room if we put her in there. She is supposed to be my cat but she will not sleep in my room. But lately the past 2-3 weeks she hates me. She doesn't hate my family she just hates me. When ever I get close to her she will scream really loudly and she would hiss and try to bat at me and then she would run away. I have tried to get her to like me but she just does the same thing. Every time I try to get close she will also poop and urinate all over. I have no idea what I did to make her so mad, it isn't like I have done anything like through her around or hit her or anything. Please help tell me why she is doing this and how to make her like me again. Does it have something to do with the declawing and she associated my scent with the pain? But then again she would have always hated me and she liked me for a couple of months after we let her out and it wasn't until recently that she started to hate me.

I propose that it is unnecessary at best, and a complete waste of time at worst. For one thing, most of what is learned in high school is forgotten in adulthood, due to sheer lack of use. For another, the large amounts of time spent in high school could be spent learning a practical trade or doing an apprenticeship. For those with keen interests, high school could remain an OPTION, much as university is now, and the environment would probably be more conducive to learning when it is not forced on the entire populace. Many kids are simply not suited to learning from books in classrooms for hours a day and could be learning in other ways, from family and friends, from the community at large. It is understandable that for young kids without a supportive family, compulsory education would help them, but I think beyond the age of around 15 it stops being a benefit for some and becomes a cumbersome duty, which they do simply not to fall behind. And it would help society at large; what is happening now is a strange distortion of the skilled workforce - more people are educated but are finding it harder to find specialized work because of the increased competition. Should high school become optional, the pressure would be reduced and true market forces could work to bring out the most suitable to such positions (ie. those with the aptitude AND interest). Also, it goes without saying that many people don't complete high school; the investments made to their high school education are therefore wasted. This money could be redirected to support alternative options.

I went for lunch with my best friend yesterday at work, and the entire time I didn't acknowledge his existence (he was in the same room) he didn't try talking to me though. He said when he broke up with me that he hasn't given up on me, but that he has given up on the relationship, and that he wants to remain good friends. How can I get him back though? When i was a teenager i was subjected to unusual side effects that normally wouldn't happen but for some reason it happened on one night when i went out with my parents to eat at a restaurant, then later that night on our way home from the restaurant i had altered vision where night time would look like the early mornings where it is all dark blue and also all the lights i saw where all blue. car headlights, street lights were all blue and i also noticed that when i got from the city to the highway it felt like it was a short trip, but know it takes at least 4 minutes but for some reason it felt like it was only 10 seconds and later on when i got home and when i was about to fall to sleep, i had this feeling like i was going to die because my body felt really cold and i could not move any of my limbs i was somewhat awake but my vision was very dim and saw a cloaked figure heading towards me slowly but i somehow shook out of it and was fully awake and went to sleep later on. But these sleeping problems attacked me on some nights. i am now 22 and these sleeping problems have seemed to have ceased for good or just remain dormant for now.

I have three cats and a dog.. One cat, fudge, we've had for about 9 or 10 years, he's a male but not part of the problem... They havent major hurt eachother but tasha has a scratch on the nose and Casey acted as maybe his back side was hurting, but then again he's a touchy cat, he's really a brat.. lol.. and tasha is this big overweight calico who is very tense and jumpy at all times.. we bought some anxiety drops to give them and it made them all happy and tasha much more relaxed around us but as soon as they saw eachother again, they growl, hiss, and try to attack eachother. We have too keep them locked in separate rooms or have one in a pet carrier now. I have no idea what to do because my mom is really mad and says if they don't stop fighting we will have to get rid of one or both of them.. Please Help!!

Will calming treats work for a bawling cat?

I have a calico tortie cat who has a huge case of spring fever. Ever since the weather started getting nice she sits and bawls at just about everything. She is an indoor cat but for some reason she thinks I am going to let her outside. She will sit and bawl for hours! I've tried ignoring her, squirting her with water, making sure her food dish is full, and cat box is empty nothing works. My husband hates my cat, kinda long but need some insight...?

Ive been married for almost 2 years and just had a baby. I had a hard time during my pregnancy and brought it to my husbands attention that I knew someone giving away a 5 wk old calico kitten. He sounded really excited and told me he wanted to get her that day, YAY! He seemed to enjoy her for a few months (tops) and now despises her. He tells me every day to get rid of her. I am not a person who believes in getting an animal, loving and caring for them and then getting rid of them for no reason. He's being childish, like hes done playing with the cat so get rid of it. She's not a toy and I love her. I told him I would find her another home if she did something legitimately bad like hurt the baby or something, not climb in things, occasionally strough litter from the box, and get on counter tops (all which I discourage). He has no reason not to like her other than she isn't a dog... He will discipline her like a dog (spanking and popping on the nose) and I hate it! I tell him not to do that, cats just don't learn that way! What should I do? I do not want to give up on my cat, she is like my other child.

HELP! My 3yr old, female, Calico Cat, has been over grooming a small part of her chest area,?

Problems with new cat?

We just got a new Calico from the local SPCA and she is absolutely petrified. I know thats normal at first, but we brought her home and opened the carrier in which she then hopped out quickly and sat on the second shelf of our book case. To make a long story short, she was hiding behind the couch and hadn't eaten anything for about 2 days, so I called the SPCA and they said to put her in a room by herself with her box, food, toys, bed, etc... so we tried to nicely grab her and she freaked and it turned into a kind of rodeo in which she then peed on the rug (after more than a day of not using the box) and we got a hold of her and put her in the other room. So, she is still not eating (day 2.5-3) and hasn't used the box at all. She is hiding in a corner by the cabinet and hasn't moved all day. I'm worried that she may become dehydrated or maybe emaciated in the future due to not eating for God knows how long. Are there any experienced cat people out there that have any advice or ideas as to what we can do for her to make her feel more calm and at home?

Why don't my kitchen lights turn off in a certain situation?

My kitchen spotlights can be controlled by two separate light switches located at opposite ends of the kitchen (2 entrances). Each light switch works fine independently meaning you can turn the light on and then turn it off at the same switch. The problem comes when you turn on the light at one switch and then try to turn if off at the other switch. When you try, the light flickers once but then remains on. This problem is in both directions, meaning either light switch will fail to turn off the light if it wasn't the one you originally turned on the light at. I hope I explained that clearly.

I've had my female DLH calico for 10 years, and she's never been much of a talker. When she does meow, it's high-pitched and very soft, like a kitten. I don't have the will to live anymore?

I was like any other teenager, with hopes and dreams, but nowI feel pathetic, insignificant, and as if I have wasted my parents time and money. It all started two years ago when I have enrolled in the IB program. It severely lowered my marks compared to grade 9, and from then on, I have never been able to recover from it. Last year, I received a 61 in English 10 which was a huge blow to my marks. My sentence structure, vocabulary and grammar is awful. Even to this day, my dad tells me that I am a disgrace of a son. Day after day, I am reminded of my failure. I have tried to drop the program but my parents won't allow it. They think I have the potential to continue on. During last symester, I again failed another course; Math 30. I studied weeks ahead of the Diploma exam and my dad even paid $150 for a prep course. To no avail, it didn't make any difference and my final mark was 58% This greatly dissapointed my parents, but it killed me inside to both see them that sad, but also at how stupid I am. For the first time in my life, I started thinking about suicide. Now my dad has two things to scold me about. He has litaerally told me of how stupid and incompetant I am at every meal, and I don't blame him. It's my fault. Everything is. I am a huge dissapointment to my family. To add to that, my dad absolutely despises me for my long spikey hair. He says I look like an Asian punk, and that the only reason he still keeps me in his house is because I am his son. Now's the ending of the school year and guess what? I failed another course. This time calculus. 37% has got to be the saddest excuse of a mark ever recorded. As for my other marks, I passed with 50's again. What suprised me this time was that I tried. Honestly I did. I don't know what to do anymore. I've lost all hope in myself and in life. My friends say I smile all the time and am possibly the happiest person on earth, but that smile is just to hide the sad truth. That I am miserable and always thinking of killing myself. The only thing that keeps my living on is my loving parents, but even now I can't think of confronting them with another setof bad marks. My dad also tells me eacha and every day, that I have to get into university. If I don't he will have to wear a "paper bag" over his head to cover up the shame I have brought. It saddens me that I will never be able to make my parents proud. Just yesterday, someone tried speeding a red light and almost hit me. Unlike other's instinct to run I no longer fear death, and just slowly walked on, hoping he ends my miserable life here and now. I can no longer bare to see my parents dissapointment. Report cards come home in a week and I don't intent to bring home any bad news. I plan to jump off a bridge onto a highway, where a passing car will ensure I won't be able to live and become an even bigger burden to my parents. I know suicide is not the answer, but I am weak, a coward. I think most everyone has to have and show courage at some point. Courage is different for everyone. Everyone has at least a little bit. Its really just a matter of a single persons life and what they do with it and how they do it that is courage. When my friends cat had kittens, the mother was spotted gray and white and the father was stripped like a tabby. All of the kittens came out looking like the mother except one that looked exactly like the father. It is all a little chance.

i had 2 cats but my one cat would always pee on things and they would always get in fights. My cat always would pee on things though. there was a tabby female and a calico female. the one was older and one was younger.we had to give the calico to my aunt because she always wanted to be outside and our neighbors used pesticides. she is better with our aunt who lives in the country is there a reason the younger one would pee on everything?? how would i get her to stop? we live out in the country and because of the space we have welcomed a large amount of animals into our home. to date we have 5 cats, an orange tabby named henry, a siamese named suri, a black cat named zoey, a calico cat named abbey, and a bengal cat named brody. we also have now four dogs, a very big (9lbs of muscle!!!!) white with black spots chihuahua named harley, a teeny black and brown chihuahua named riley, a teeny white chihuahua named lilly, and finally our new cockapoo. and yes, we are done. lol. we are thinking of naming this puppy buffy, what do you think?

Introducing a Kitten to my 4yr old Calico...?

My mom picked up the kitten after it was hit by a car. She was injured and we took her to the vet. The skin on her bottom jaw was pulled away and it's going to take months to heal. So we don't feel comfortable giving her to a new home until she has completely healed up. She's been here about 2 weeks now. Pumpkin my 4 yr old calico has not been a happy camper. She pretty much stays in my room when the kitten is out and about playing. (Note: The kitten is staying in a spare room and let out with supervision.) They have both exchanged hisses and are practicing avoidance, which is great considering they could be trying to attack each other. They have talked to each other through the door and then hissed and Pumpkin left for the bedroom again. Miracle is about 6 weeks old, and I feel bad leaving her in the spare room but I can't risk them fighting and Miracle winding up more injured then she already is. Any suggestions?

I just bought a female betta for my male whose almost a year old now and i decided i wanted them too make.. i just introduced him to her in a smaller tank with a divider in it, at first he didn't seem to thrilled with her and tried to attack her at first but a few hours later and he doesn't seem so worked up and remains quite at his far end of the tank, only very once in a while going over to investigate.. she on the other hand seems very interested in him following him where ever he goes, i believe hes shown some interest by turning side ways and fanning out and jutting from side to side... so im curious to know if this is normal behavior and if so when can i expect him to start construction of the nest?

How can i get my orange/yellow hair to blonde?

i had medium brown hair, ive dyed it blonde using xxl live Colors 3 times, at first it went all over orange then yellow at the top but still remained orange at the ends, the 3rd time i dyed it it just llightened the yellow to a white blonde, ive been using toner for a few weeks and it hasn't made that much of a difference, ive also been using john frieda go blonder shampoo and conditioners, its there anything else i can do that wont damage my hair too much? thanks

While driving i can feel heat near my feet?

92 caprice 88,000 miles i've been driving and realized i can feel heat in my feet and also my passengers say they can feel the heat. its summer time and i dont feel the heat when the ac is on only when its off and i've been driving for awhile. My temp. Gauge isn't work and remains at 0 so i cant tell if its over heating. The car doesn't cut off and runs strong at night (75 degrees temp) but a little sluggish during the day 85+ degrees. I have a short haired Siamese who has a beautiful sleek coat, but sheds horribly. I think the best you can do is wipe him down with a wet washcloth (since baths wont do) and brush him regularly. It's what I do to maintain my cats shedding.
